Hardest game in the world
Some may be surprised to see Sekiro not included in games listed in the number three spot. The truth is, while Sekiro is also a FromSoftware release, it’s not a ‘Souls’ game. While it shares many similarities with Dark Souls, Elden Ring, etc, this is a hard-as-nails single-player-only adventure. In a Souls game, you can summon allies to help you take down a difficult boss, essentially letting them share the load. However, in Sekiro, players either “git good” or they die trying – many times.
Learning curve? Id say Dota and League are up there. football though.. It definitely requires a lot of muscle memory, spatial awareness, coordination and good physical conditioning to be able to play at a decent level, plus there are a lot of strategies you can learn to catch adversaries by surprise.. yeah I can see football as being one of the hardest, not THE hardest though.
This sci-fi adventure is not for everyone, but those who enjoy punishing experiences will find a lot to love, particularly within the layered story. While Returnal can be admittedly frustrating at times, it’s worth pushing through the pain to get to the credits.
However, I stopped playing this game after a while, maybe after six months or so. Until recently, when I got back into it over this past summer. I spent the first little bit of time in the game refreshing my muscle memory and got into the swing of things pretty quickly. Except this time was different. I knew that there are loads of bosses in “Elden Ring” and I wanted to beat all of them. There are just under 240 bosses in the main game, and I embarked on a mission to do every single one. This is known as an “All Bosses Run”, and is not easy by any means. As I write this, I am currently just under 50 hours into the run, and I’ve only done around 45 bosses. I’m spending an average of over an hour on each boss. Normally in a challenge like this, I would have given up by now. But there are several things I’ve learned along the way that keep making this playthrough exciting and fresh.
When Cuphead was first revealed, it looked like a homage to cartoons from the 1940s and 1950s. Little did players know that lurking beneath this cute exterior was one of the hardest games of all time. Don’t ever judge a Cuphead by its cover, and make sure you sip some chamomile tea to calm your nerves before tackling this one.
